I wonder why our parliamentarians don't want to move in that direction? Can anyone tell us?
Ofcourse, changing our constitution has always been difficult because it virtually requires that the political Left and Right agree on a referendum proposal to put to the people.

Any person is entitled to leave a will disposing of his/her assets any which way he/she chooses. If the choice was according to Sharia principles, that is completely legal. Muslims are completely free to adopt sharia principles, whilstever they compley with Australian Law. However, if there is ever a clash. Australian law over-rides any religious practice / custom. Law must always come before any religion .. and that is made very clear to potential immigrants.

As an American, my first thought was, 'That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.' That is mildly depressing. I appreciate a design that can emerge without timid deference to the planning bureaucrats who constantly try to find risks in designs like these without grasping the bigger idea of architecture's social purpose. This design is made with the focus of creating a fun and exciting space people can enjoy. I normally dislike most of BIG's designs because I think they often have a tone-deafness towards context in their brutally large scale. This project however is more about the grand potential of architecture to create excitement and pride.

I'm a huge George Orwell fan. I wrote my undergraduate senior capstone paper on him (a capstone class is required to finish an English degree at the college I went to). Some of the biographies I read suggested that 1984 may have contributed to Orwell's death. It's a great novel, and a great final novel by an interesting author and man.
